Tabitha in Lakeview asked:
“Is there a limit to how many wood-grains I can use in a single room? If my desk is black, should the book-shelf also be black?”
“Having just one type of grain can look boring – though it often helps to stay within a limited range. Cool tones are going to look best with other cool tones, warm tones with other warm tones.
Take cues from your flooring, walls, and existing furniture and tie it all together with accessories. If your desk is black, maybe let your bookshelves play back-up in white lacquer.
Just be sure to feature some B+W photography on the shelves or a piece of dark sculpture – something to ground the piece and refer back to the desk!”
